Michelle Macaraeg is a software engineer with a passion for building user-friendly web applications that deliver seamless end-to-end experiences. She holds a Software Engineering degree from Hackbright Academy and a Communication degree from the University of California, San Diego. At Bright Apps LLC, Michelle works alongside data scientists, machine learning engineers, data analysts, and DevOps engineers, building applications and assisting with backend development for machine learning projects that leverage LLM and NLP tools. She also builds tools, applications, and libraries for clients to streamline data extraction and expedite exploratory data analysis, and collaborates with the CTO to design and build endpoints for clients.
Michelle has a strong foundation in backend development using Python and extensive experience in data engineering and machine learning. She has contributed to many projects, including embeddings comparison experiments and the Exchange Program, and has worked on ensuring the Search2Cluster application is up-to-date using the latest codebase. Prior to joining Bright Apps LLC, Michelle worked in the financial industry, where she facilitated product trainings and collaborated with product managers and UX designers for product roll-outs and enhancements.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Michelle is a committed volunteer and serves as a Network Lead for Women Who Code, San Francisco. Her leadership experience involves developing professional, educational, and networking events for software engineers and those seeking to build their skills in the tech industry. She previously served as a Senior Director for a non-profit organization called Women Who Code.
